I love Jon Stewart. He really calls a lot of this idiots out. Fox should be more ashamed of themselves. They're an opinion show NOT an actual news show. And I feel sorry for anyone who thinks
otherwise.
The song that the student were singing had other leaders in it too, if I'm not mistaken, so the song was NOT written solely for Obama. Of course by the time Fox news cut the video footage up,
it looked totally different.
I'll catch a rerun tonight or over the weekend.
It'd be a little easier to take Fox seriously if they didn't exaggerate and b!tch about absolutely anything done that includes Obama's name.
I think the whole thing is silly what the White house is doing. All of the hosts on Fox that have have been repeatedly called out by them Beck, Hannity and sometimes O'Reilly have repeatedly
said on their own shows that their shows are opinion so the hosts and the White House are in agreement. IMO they're creating an argument where there is none and coming out in the end looking
like fools. Just say we don't want to talk to them because we don't like their opinion and call it a day.
Yes you will. Seriously, I'm right there with you. Once, my internet was down because my idiot roomate (at the time) had decided to switch phone companies without any warning. I watch TDS and
CR online. Well, believe me or not, I went to my university building on a SATURDAY just so I could have a wifi connection and watch my two lovers... I know, I'm sick...
@Hypno: I kind of agree with you. The disproportion of importance/power allowed to Fox News is fascinating. Strategically, it doesn't make any sense. They have 2 million viewers, right ? The
White House should ackowledge that those 2M people won't ever be convinced and will still believe that Obama is Kenyan/Hitler/Stalin - and they should move on and ignore them because any
debate wouldn't be constructive anyway.
The problem is, by singling out Fox News as the main "threat" to the Obama administration, they give the channel the very power they had wanted to take away from it. Big mistake.
I've gone to the library to watch John - he's worth looking like a looneylady for.
I would like to respectfully disagree with you Hypno - it goes way beyond slipping in opinions. We've got a couple articles here on Liberal that spell out some of Fox's more egregious
offenses.
Personally, I like to listen to Pacifica stations and Democracy Now - but I wouldn't pretend to anyone that they're unbiased news sources.
I don't have any problem with calling any organization out when you think they're playing fast & lose with news & information. If you don't, people begin to think that every outlet
carries equal weight - whether its Fox, ABC, or the Enquirer.
Slipping in opinions?! Who is slipping in opinions, they gush opinions lol and the three hosts that I mentioned are honest about the fact that their shows are about opinions. That was my
point.
To me, it's like all those years Limbaugh was bashing Clinton and everyone said he was just preaching to his little choir.
News directors and people like Brian Williams began tuning in to hear what his choir (which they originally thought were disenfranchised white guys) was getting from him, then they started
giving them little bits of the same thing (John Stoessel on ABC for example)... Then Fox came and tapped the vein and it gushed. NOT because their viewers were thirsty for news and
information relevant to their lives, but for news and information laced with anger and sympathy for their feelings.
Yes I understand they (Fox viewers) enjoy having a TV network represent their social political feelings and they should have one. I enjoy having my feelings represented by opinion shows on
other programs.
This is the way I look at it if the Bush administration can take on the majority of news media which is mostly liberal some moderate with out crying about it the Obama administration needs to
get it together and deal with the fact that Fox news represents a voice in American, the voice of people that are the Presidents constituents just as much as any one else. Either engage them
head meaning answer their questions with unapologetic resounding confidence or ignore the attacks but don't whine about Fox and say hey stop picking on me. IMO all their doing with this
debate is making themselves look foolish.
Hmmm. News is supposed to be news - accurate as possible chronicles of what happened in the world today, not outlets that define events in a manner pleasing to whichever group is paying them.
How many times can a president, or any person with a job, be expected to answer a group that says 'I think your parents knew you were going to run for president 44 years ago and faked your
birth announcements'? Should the President then explain every decision he makes in terms that the Vegan News Network will be satisfied with?
Nope, let's real that notion back to the middle. You see what's happening now is they don't answer any questions and what you are suggesting is that they answer questions indefinitely to
anybody and everybody. That's not what I'm saying. What I'm saying is simply engage them like you do any other other network. The administration has given Fox the impression that they're
tucking tail and hiding. I say meet them on the battle field and own your message.
I finally saw the piece last night. I worked for one of the Fox execs quoted when he was at CNN - guy is all about boosting the numbers any way you can.
How could I have missed this until now? I love Jon Stewart, this is great. And when Fox news refers back to their own channel's talk shows for the "some say" yeah that does undermine their
credibility.
Years ago, I had to do a review of a co-worker at CNN and was challenged for suggesting he did some things that weren't journalistically kosher - like including comments he heard in the
newsroom in reports as 'it is being said in Washington.'
The executive producer sided with me, but the co-worker in question later moved to Fox News in an executive position.
This man (and this show) is a treasure.

3I don't have sound at work - this is killing me!
4Jon Stewart is actually airing right now on Comedy Central. It's the same show that's above in the video.
5Steph :
this video is soooo funny and Jon Stewart is sooo cute and clever, really, I would
hate to miss it because of work...
6Not at my office.
7I'll catch a rerun tonight or over the weekend.

Well, Steph, with Xmas looming in the distance, you could consider this ordeal as an early pratice of patience before opening your gifts...
9Oh, I am just going to end up being sainted I'll be so freakin' patient!
